Tree & Woodland Photography
The acacia in my logo is a nod to the trees of Zimbabwe and Botswana, where I grew up. Here in the Midlands the equivalent is the field oak: a single tree standing on its own in frost, fog or the last of the evening sun. Many of the oaks on this page live in the fields near Solihull Riding Club and Woodhouse Farm, and I photograph the same trees through every season, from bare winter branches to full summer leaf and back again.
The woodland work comes from further afield: the pine plantations of Cannock Chase, the wartime remains hidden in Harewood Forest in Hampshire, the tall pines above the River Wye at Symonds Yat, and the autumn acers of Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
